All of your favorite local craft brewers in one spot?! Yep, you read that right! Sunny and 60 here in Somerville and nothing says happy weekend like cracking open a cold one! The Battle of The Breweries at the Cambria was an absolute blast, with glasses filled high and smiles from ear to ear. Twelve local breweries came to participate in friendly competition, representing their local brews! The event kicked off around 5:00pm when guests were greeted with a small tasting glass, a sheet containing all of the tasting notes based on the beers provided, and bottle caps to vote for the best brewery. Delicious food was provided by Josephine, serving artisan pizza and other light bites for the duration of the event.
This was a wonderful way to get to know local breweries in the area and even add a couple new beers to your list of favorites. As the votes were collected and the scores tallied up, the winner of this year’s Battle of the Breweries was Widowmaker, for their third consecutive win! Although, that shouldn’t take away from the eleven other breweries who are all masters of their craft. If you find yourself in the Boston area or up in Vermont check them out, you won’t be disappointed.
