Named after the Somerville street that owner Sarah Murphy lived on, Vinal has two excellent spots for you to try.
Vinal Bakery
It all started with the English muffins. After seasoning her craft at baking heavyweights in the area including Flour and 3 little figs, Murphey perfected the English Muffin And you would miss out of you grab an egg sandwich on one of these beauties. My favorite is the Sam-I-Am which has garlicy greens and a dijonnaise. Add in a full service coffee operation and you have yourself the perfect morning spot!
Vinal General Store
Right next door, you’ll find Vinal General Store. Stepping inside is like taking a step back in time. With a long dining counter reminiscent of an old soda shop, Vinal General Store serves up delightful sandwiches and unique soft-serve ice cream. Currently, the ice cream flavors are hot cocoa & marshmallow – of course, we recommend going with the swirl! In addition, they sell many local snacks & goods so you can take a piece of Somerville home.
