Somerville’s Good Food For All Market is one of the city’s most heartwarming summer traditions, combining fresh, local food with a powerful mission of equity and community support not far from the Cambria in Somerville’s Union Square. This year, from June 21st to June 28th, 2025, the event centers around the vibrant Union Square Farmers Market, which comes alive every Saturday morning from 9 AM to 1 PM. The highlight of the week is the market’s SNAP Match Program, which doubles the value of SNAP/EBT benefits up to $15 per visit. That means if a shopper spends $15 of SNAP benefits, they receive an additional $15 to spend, helping stretch grocery budgets while filling baskets with high-quality, local produce, meats, dairy, baked goods, and more!
But the celebration goes beyond the market itself. All week long, local Union Square businesses get involved by offering special promotions and donating portions of their sales to support the SNAP Match Program, keeping it funded and growing year after year. Since its inception, the program has raised over $100,000, directly helping Somerville families access healthier food options. The atmosphere during Good Food For All Week is festive and welcoming, with neighbors chatting over fresh strawberries, kids nibbling on farm-fresh treats, and a real sense of community pride filling the air. This event is a true testament to Somerville’s commitment to making good food a right, not a privilege and everyone who participates helps keep that mission alive!
